Dartmouth have been retained by one of Europe’s fastest growing Fintech start-ups to recruit a Finance Director. The company is disrupting the property sector in a big way and has seen substantial growth in their first few years of operation. With a headcount nearing 100 and poised for international expansion the business has just completed a highly successful funding round led by a prolific Venture Capital fund.

To achieve continued growth the company is looking to strengthen their management team and bring several key areas in house including finance. The Finance Director will be a pivotal hire for the business having ownership of key financial strategy and accounting.

Key Duties:

  • Oversee all financial related matters including planning, accounting, claims management, reporting and risk management
  • Create financial plans as defined by the founders.
  • Lead on all aspects of accounting operations such as receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.
  • Preparation of all financial reporting
  • Ensure that all the company's financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation
  • Analyse the financial climate and market trends to assist in creating strategic plans
  • Supervise financial assistants and other employees in the facilitation of day-to-day operations, including tracking financial data, invoicing, payroll, etc.
  • Prepare official reports on a monthly and annual basis
  • Seek out methods and practices to minimise financial risk requirements

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in a senior financial position within a corporate finance environment
  • In depth and excellent knowledge of financial planning, accounting, risk management and reporting.
  • Demonstrable experience with and understanding of international financial markets, taxes and risk management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong understanding of international legal requirements and compliance regulations in the finance sector or access to a well developed knowledge network
