Trace are currently looking for a Part Qualified Shared Service Centre Accountant to join a large innovative Marketing agency based close to Holborn. The group have just acquired two agencies and they need a confident Financial Accountant to take ownership of the finances for these new agencies. Candidates need to have strong experience in all aspects of transactional finance, along with VAT, Tax, knowledge of the Balance Sheet, accruals and prepayments. You would be reporting directly into the Financial Controller and initially you would be working alongside the person heading up the acquisition integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage entity bank accounts, complete all banking entries and reconcile
  • Make all GL entries for the entities including accruals, prepayments.
  • Make payroll journal entries after reviewing it has been submitted to ADP correctly, and reconcile payroll control accounts.
  • Have knowledge of payroll calculations, and HMRC regulations
  • Complete PSA calculations as and when required
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies (if any) by collecting and analysing information from HR and ADP.
  • Complete period-end closing procedures and reports as specified.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts at month end for 2 entities
  • Prepare accounting records, including journal preparation, identify discrepancies prior to finalising the monthly close process
  • Assist with year-end audit
  • Make intercompany entries, reconcile and issue invoices where required.
  • Ensure the supplier invoices are accurately processed correctly coded to GL for the 2 entities
  • Prepare analysis for any BS discrepancies for Management review
  • Fixed assets: run depreciation and complete Balance sheet rec
  • Understand double entry bookkeeping
  • Complete VAT return and EC sales to submit to Plc in COGNOS system
  • VAT Returns Preparation MTD and online Submissions to HMRC

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA
  • Experience in Sage & Maconomy would be desirable but not required
  • Proficient in data entry and management
  • Have Analytical knowledge / Variance analysis
  • Self-starter able to work autonomously hit deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • Able to influence team members and work in a team
  • Knowledge of payroll and tax
  • Ability to meet deadlines
