Group Financial Accountant

A Group Financial Accountant is wanted by a listed market-leading media & communications company who promote events on a worldwide scale. They are seen as one of the go-to brands in their industry and are both growing & increasingly profitable as they seek to develop their brand and move into new markets.

The role of Group Financial Accountant has been created as a result of internal promotion and will support the Group Financial Reporting Manager in the provision of key financial information for use internally and by current / potential investors. Specific responsibilities include:
·Preparing Group year end and a complete range of half yearly schedules including the back half of the annual report and interim results, ensuring compliance with IFRS.
·Preparing papers and presentations for the Exec, Board, Audit Committee, Remuneration Committee, staff and external parties on business results and issues arising
·Advising on technical accounting treatment, e. acquisition accounting (including valuation of acquired intangible assets), impairment reviews etc...
·Assisting local teams with their completion of monthly cash flow & other reporting.
·Supporting the preparation of the Group's monthly management accounts
·Ad-hoc support including budgeting, reforecasting and one-off project work.
·Managing the Junior Accountant who will provide direct support for the above.

The ideal candidate for the position of Group Financial Accountant will be an ACA who has gained exposure to auditing mid-size companies / groups and who can demonstrate sound knowledge of IFRS.
