German Speaking Financial Controller

Large multinational media business, require a German speaking Financial Controller to join their team. The role, based in the City of London, will report into the International Controller and will be responsible for looking after the Austrian region.

Responsibilities for the role will include but not be limited to:

• Oversee the reporting of the month end accounts across Austria
• Oversee monthly close activities across Austria and ensure adherence to timetable
• Ensure accounting entries and revenue recognition are in compliance with Group Accounting Policies and local GAAP across Austria
• Drive the appropriate recognition of all intercompany items in all relevant entities
• Conduct month-end reviews of financial performance of all entities across Austria
• Review monthly P&L with the FP&A team and align on performance vs. budget
• Prepare monthly Austria commentary and prepare quarterly outlook
• Prepare / submit the monthly consolidated reporting pack, incl. variances and commentary
• Provide insight to the Austrian CFO into Austrian financial performance as required
• Manage relationship with external auditors
• Ensure year-end statutory accounts are properly prepared and appropriate information has been provided for the annual audit
• Managing staff based remotely in the region

The successful candidate will:

• Fluent German speaker - essential
• Strong Financial Controller level experience. Excellent reporting experience including strong US GAAP/local GAAP experience
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)with PQE
• Netsuite experience would be an enormous benefit but is not essential. Strong MS Excel skills are required
• Media experience preferred but not required
• Excellent communication skills
• Have team management experience
