The Liverpool City Centre based Private Equity backed business is looking to double its size over the next two years with its ambitious growth plans. Reporting directly into the Finance Director, and working closely with an inspirational, very involved Owner, you have a great opportunity to develop the role as your own and progress into the FD role over the next few years.
The role will encompass all elements of controls and accounts preparation within finance along with exposure to project work and business partnering the Operations teams.

The role will encompass all elements of controls and accounts preparation within finance along with exposure to project work and business partnering the Operations teams.
Financial reporting:
- Ensure accurate monthly financial accounts both P&L and Balance sheet are prepared
- All variances to budget/forecast are understood and can be explained
- All balance sheet reconciliations are fully understood as well as completed and reviewed in a timely manor
- Work with Operations team to ensure ownership and understanding of financial performance across the business
- Assist in production of statutory accounts and field questions from external auditors
- Prepare quarterly VAT return along with other HMRC requirements as they aris
- Work alongside the FD to maintain an accurate business forecast
- Ensure the annual budget for all areas is accurate, challenging and prepared in a timely manner
- Develop and co-own 3-year plan alongside the FD
- Verify and challenge the modelling and assumptions used across the business
- Monitor and challenge operating costs in order to improve performance and increase profitability
- Work with Operations team to implement effective cost control measures
- Assist in development of lean, effective and efficient processes across the finance function
- Work alongside Property Manager to budget capital expenditure for new openings and understand performance versus the budget
- Assist in planning and deployment of new systems and initiatives across the business as necessary
Qualifications/Skills:
- Qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Ability to analyse and present complex information in a clear, relevant and interesting way
- Proactive and able to identify and highlight areas of opportunity or improvement and advise on actions required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills to ensure consistent delivery to deadlines
