This is an exciting opportunity to join the Rank group as it continues its transformation journey. This role will be providing professional financial advice and support to the Head Office functions with a cost base of £30m. Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and detailed financial analysis will be required at an operational level to inform decision making and monitor the delivery of the departmental objectives.

You will be expected to form productive and influential working relationships with key stakeholders across the company and to also support the wider finance team in the improvement of financial management and decision-making information across the organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Business Partnering:

  • Become key contact for senior management level cost center owners for all things financial.
  • Analysis of current performance including key trends and opportunities for efficiencies.
  • Providing reviews using both financial, non-financial data and KPI's for their responsible area.
  • Planning, budgeting and forecasting to support corporate objectives and transformation program
  • Deep dive into key cost areas to build a bottom up picture of current spend
  • First point of call for technical accounting queries for cost center owners
  • Acting as poacher / gamekeeper to ensure integrity of reporting process

Monthly management accounts process:

  • Work with the management accounts team to ensure initial data integrity of underlying ledgers is recorded correctly at inception
  • Early identification of potential complex issues within cost centers and facilitate record to report process with management account
  • Ownership of capex reporting, plans and capex business cases, together with local financial tender modelling, supporting the business as necessary.
  • Improve the monthly recharges process using system automation within Dynamics 365
  • Help management accounts team with other ad hoc queries

Project Work:

  • Be part of continued transformation program within Rank Group including selection and implementation of new Group consolidation, planning and budgeting tool
  • Redesign Head Office cost center standard reporting process
  • Other ad-hoc projects

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Newly qualified or recently qualified ACA/CIMA accountant
  • Prior experience of working in a Group environment preferable
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Strong excel skills
