LondonEnergy operates the second largest waste contract in the UK, handling and treating nearly 750,000 tonnes of London's waste and recyclables and generates enough electricity to power more than 80,000 homes every year. We divert more than 90% of waste away from landfill saving nearly 300,000 tonnes of CO2e every year. As well as a 40-acre head office in North London, the company operates the Hendon Transfer Station, London NW7, Hornsey Street Transfer Station and six Reuse and Recycling Centres across North London achieving over 70% recycling rate. Job Description

Financial Business Analyst

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Business Analysis in the development and maintenance of financial budgets and forecasts (monthly and quarterly) to support strategic decision making (e.g. what/if strategic analysis, business forecasting)
  • Develop key relationships through business partnering within the organisation to understand and improve the data flow and to understand what is required by the business functions
  • Design tools to enable our senior management team to access analytical and management datasets
  • Share actionable insights with the management team through both ad-hoc reporting and creating dashboards
  • Identify, analyse and communicate current trends and most important, their impact on forward looking financial forecasts
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support business decision-making
  • Facilitate business processes with a focus on future developments
  • Communication with other business functions is fundamental to the role so you must be confident to participate in meetings, presentations, workshops and training.

The Successful Applicant

Skills and attributes required:

Essential

  • An accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience. Ideally 1-3 years as a minimum
  • Strong analytical skills and mindset
  • Attention to detail
  • Be proactive, curious and innovative
  • Ability to multitask and focus on individual tasks, with the confidence to ask for help when required
  • Be able to evidence experience of working in an environment where you have tried to drive change through your examples of working with, influencing and challenging a range of stakeholders
  • Have a communicative and collaborative approach to continuous improvement and problem solving
  • Strong Microsoft skills and Proficient in packages

Desirable

  • Statistical, Financial or a Computer Science background
  • Experience of using Microsoft Power BI would be advantageous
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Dynamics D365 Finance and Operations would be an advantage
