Reporting and Accounting Manager

Salary: £60,000 - £75,000

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm

Location: Sevenoaks, Kent

Reporting to: Group Financial Controller

The Company:

The company are an innovative and entrepreneurial group of companies specialising in Motor Insurance Services.

The Job Role:

  • Lead and manage a team of no more than 8 direct reports.
  • Oversee the production of the Group's pro-forma monthly management accounts; profit and loss; balance sheet; cash flows, KPIs from trial balance level.
  • Overview and review of key monthly accounting control accounts; Fixed assets; bank; debtor; creditor; prepayments; accruals; PAYE and VAT reconciliations.
  • Establishing and developing relationships with senior management, business heads, stakeholders and the board.
  • Remote liaison with subsidiary operational finance functions on day to day accounting issues.
  • Production of monthly financial variance analysis compared to budget.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets with managers and subsequent re-forecasts.
  • Continually improve the financial operating processes and key controls.
  • Ad hoc (special project) work on modelling, projections, cash flows, consolidations etc
  • Liaison with the on-site external audit team, preparing annual audit files.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • CIMA or ACCA Qualified
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • Team management experience
  • Good knowledge of management accounts, P&L, Balance Sheets, cashflows and Budgets
  • Able to deal with Audits and auditors
  • Strong excel skills including financial modelling
  • Ad-hoc project work with the ability/flexibility to work to tight deadlines
  • Needs to be methodical but quick and efficient
