We're looking for a technically strong, dynamic Qualified accountant to fulfil this important job, which is part of our Group Financial reporting function. In this job you'll have responsibility for a wide variety of financial and management accounting tasks, as well as assisting in the Group audit process and analysis, and undertaking analysis and urgent requests from the Group CFO, Study Group's Private Equity owners and banks.

Key responsibilities:

In this accountant job you'll:

  • Assist in preparing the monthly and quarterly management accounts, including reporting and analysis of cash flows, balance sheet and exceptional costs
  • Assist in preparing the year end consolidated statutory accounts
  • Take ownership of consolidation entities and year end adjustments
  • Prepare and review journals and reconciliations in respect of group exceptional costs, tax, IFRS 16, intercompany, treasury and Corporate entities
  • Assist in the Group audit process with Deloitte
  • Assist FP&A team with forecasting cycles
  • Consolidate balance sheet reconciliation summary across the group, including presentation of key risk and opportunities to the Head of Group Reporting
  • Report on and analyse the group’s net debt-like items on a monthly basis to help ensure the group is ‘exit-ready’
  • Prepare the group transfer pricing and tax model including the five year plan forecast
  • Provide ad-hoc reports to the heads of Group Tax and Treasury
  • Drive process and control improvement across the Group

Qualifications and Experience:

To do this job you'll certainly need to be a Qualified accountant, either trained in a public practice environment or with experience of a technical accounting, multi currency role within Commerce and Industry. You'll be a self starter, happy to be hands on when necessary but also with the "big picture mentality" that will enable you to identify areas for improvement and devise/implement solutions. You'll have the ability to work at pace and adapt quickly that's essential to working in a private equity organisation that's ever-changing and growing with an exit ready focus.
