Highly aspirational and expanding SME (privately held) have a newly created requirement for a commercially focused finance manager / head of finance.

As commercial finance manager you will report directly to the entrepreneurial owners of the group.  Your remit heavily focuses on providing a firm financial sounding board for key strategic decisions.

You will ensure contracts are financially sound, viable and well thought through.  You will be involved in providing financial and commercial insights around all new contracts, bids and project tenders.  You will also play a key role post contract completion and provide ongoing financial reporting and commentary for the directors regarding contract / project and customer performance.

You will provide insightful reporting / MI around profit streams, revenue, margin, costs, variances and forecasts.

You will also play a hands on role in the core monthly accounting – providing management accounts packs and managing the year end reporting requirements for the growing SME.

The directors are seeking a highly astute and commercially minded finance professional.

You will ideally:

• Hold a recognised qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Have a track record of success within a commercially focused finance role.
• Have experience of financial reporting around large contracts / projects.
• Be comfortable producing a full and detailed management accounts pack for director level review.
• Be comfortable communicating with business owners.
• Have excellent IT skills.
• Be meticulous and detailed in your approach and have a proactive approach to solving problems and managing ad hoc assignments.
