Junior Service Charge Accountant / Service Charge Accounts Assistant - Real Estate. Our Client are an established firm of Chartered Surveyors who have been operating / providing their services to their clients for almost 20 years. They offer a range of services to property owners and occupiers on both the residential and commercial properties, mainly within the City and West End. These services include property management, valuations, lease advisory and more. They are looking to recruit a Junior Service Charge Accountant / Service Charge Accounts Assistant to their small, prestigious client accounting team.
The Role involves yet is not limited to:
- Entering service charge budgets on to Property Management System
- Performing service charge reconciliations.
- Charging out balancing service charges.
- Closing year-end service charges and ensuring adherence to the RICS service charge code.
- Processing journal entries.
- Posting purchase ledger invoices onto the system.
- Preparing payment runs and obtaining authorisation.
- Responsible for accruals and prepayments.
- Updating tenant charges to reflect increases.
- Ensuring tenants apportionments are correct.
- Completing daily banking.
The Person must have 18 months to 2 years' experience of working within in the service charge accounting team of a property management firm or a firm of Chartered Surveyors. Exposure to service charge accounts, including budgets and reconciliation is essential. It would be highly advantageous if you have had experience working within commercial property management although not required. Experience working with property management systems (QUBE, TRAMPS, YARDI) will also be preferred but it is not a prerequisite. This will provide you with a great opportunity to develop your career within commercial property in an established Chartered Surveyors firm.
