Finance Director - SaaS Start-Up

Finance Director (Operational) | Market-leading SAAS organisation | Full-time or 4 day week

Harmonic Finance are proud to be recruiting on an exclusive basis for one of the United Kingdom's leading Series A SAAS companies. The business are 'first to market' in their field and are now- following a recent multi-million pound VC raise- seeking to invest heavily in headcount across tech, finance and business development.

In spite of being founded only a few years ago, they have scaled rapidly- in the process acquiring a number of exclusive international clients on long-term contracts. The co-founders have previously successfully exited a business for a sizeable revenue multiple and are well-respected by experienced peers within the European tech community.

The role:

A newly-created position (supported by a capable colleague who covered Management Accounts and Transactional Finance), you will be the #1 team member for Finance and Operations.

While the business is relatively simple from a transactional perspective, there is currently a lack of nous around the commercial financial analysis and KPI metrics and the financial input into the board pack for investors requires improvement during 2020. There is also a requirement to provide strategic leadership and support the CEO as the business make the step-change from circa 20 to 50 headcount.

While the emphasis of the role is heavily weighted towards Finance (c 85%), you will also oversee colleagues who will manage the HR and Legal side (i. contractual agreements with new clients and compliance etc). The role would therefore suit someone who is either happy to learn and develop a broader 'Operational FD skillset', or someone who has experience to cover a broad remit from a previous start-up.

Subject to strong performance, the successful candidate will be offered a clear career trajectory to become the company's first CFO.

What we need to see (Essential):

• Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA
• Experience of working within at least one Seed or Series A-C scale-up (current or previous role)
• A real enthusiasm for commercial financial analysis and an ability to develop KPI dashboards.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability and confidence to present to prospective investors.
• Solid technical accounting background

What we'd like to see (Non-Essential):

• Experience as an FC, Head of Finance or Finance Director within a SAAS or Enterprise Software business.

Location: Old Street

Salary: £90-110k + bonus + options (experience dependent). Client will consider a pro-rata 4 day per week arrangement
