Accountancy Recruit partner with a diverse range of companies from SME, owner managed businesses to larger corporates across the UK. Our client, a global manufacturing business, has a requirement for a Tax Manager to join the finance team.

The Tax Manager will work closely with the leadership team, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the business is compliant and tax efficient through excellent tax planning. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to gain experience in an international business with diverse tax requirements.
 

Responsibilities of the Tax Manager position:

• Deliver timely, accurate and reliable data to Corporate tax function
• Manage one direct report
• Enable accurate and timely forecasting of the group tax rate and acceleration of tax reporting close
• Compile and present quarterly reporting
• Manage all indirect and direct taxes ensuring that the correct excise, VAT and corporate taxes are paid annually
• Work closely with HMRC on any tax related issues and compile all required government documents relating to tax
• Keep abreast of and comply with all emerging tax legislation and ensure optimum tax planning
• Drive efficiency and make savings where appropriate with correct tax treatment
• Documentation and quantification of uncertain tax positions
• Review of tax provisions
• Advising on bespoke tax planning
• Implementation of tax planning arrangements
• Succession Planning
• Remuneration packages
• Liaising with third party professionals including solicitors, other accountant, tax advisers and independent financial advisers

Person Specification

• Qualified Accountant
• Experience of both direct and indirect tax preferred
• Proven track record within a manufacturing environment as a Tax Manager
• The ability to work well under pressure and deliver results
• Experience of GAAP highly desirable
