Finance Graduate, Central London - Ecommerce, up to £25,000 plus study support

A new graduate position has become available in a fast-growing ecommerce business, acting as an accounts assistant. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance you will be responsible for the day to day posting and reconciling of transactions. In the wider business you will be a key partner to other departments; responding to queries and providing support / advice as required. This position gives you the opportunity to gain exposure to all sides of finance and to grow with the business over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the Accounts inbox
  • Posting bank payments and inter-account transfers
  • Reconciling transactional control accounts (Credit Card, PayPal, Amazon Receipts)
  • Undertaking bank reconciliations
  • Coding and processing Accounts Payable invoices
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Maintaining AP and AR ledgers (allocations, correcting part invoiced)
  • Dealing with transaction queries (chargebacks, payment discrepancies)
  • Credit control
  • Prepare weekly payment run and enter onto bank
  • Process expenses claim forms for cash expenses and petty cash
  • Reconcile, match and process business credit card statements
  • Update cash flow model
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register
  • Assist with the preparation of month and year end
  • Calculate and prepare schedules and journals for accruals, prepayments and other monthly adjustments
  • Carry out monthly reconciliation of all control accounts

Key Skills/Qualification:

  • University Graduate (2018/2019) with a Grade 2.1 or higher
  • Looking to start an ACCA/CIMA qualification
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office, including Excel intermediate level (SUMIFS / VLOOKUPS)
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent telephone manner - clear and well spoken
  • Excellent time management and working to tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in their work
  • 'Can-do' attitude is vital. If you don't know the answer you will figure it out.
  • The ability to use their own initiative and work proactively
