Senior Client Accountant - Residential Our Client is a well-established and prestigious property management firm who are growing and seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Residential Property Accountant to join their expanding team.

The Role of the will include taking all necessary steps and responsibilities to ensure a designated portfolio of properties are kept accurate, current and up to date and in real-time. Additionally, the Senior Client / Property Accountant will manage a number of staff, acting as a mentor to junior accountants. The following responsibilities form the core role:

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to colleagues on behalf of the accounts Manager.
  • Calculating the year end accounts and re-allocating of costs.
  • Preparing P+L reports in preparation for auditing.
  • Taking control of the auditing process and liaising with the relevant internal/external teams.
  • Approving draft accounts with the board and PM.
  • Taking responsibility for statutory accounts filed with government agencies.
  • Calculating and managing surplus and deficit charges on lessee accounts.
  • Answering financial queries from clients and lessees.
  • Uploading budget templates you have prepared onto the in-house system.
  • Overseeing ad hoc costs to tenants in the service charge process.
  • Preparing management reports of a regular basis.
  • Working with property managers on matters of finance.
  • Setting up new clients on the system.
  • Reviewing handover documents.
  • Analysing cash flow.
  • Managing outstanding payments regularly.

THE PERSON - To apply you will ideally hold a part or full recognised accounting qualification eg CIMA/ ACCA/ AAT, and have extensive experience in residential portfolio / client accounting with (ideally) proven experience in preparing and using complex charts and reports. It would be beneficial for the right applicant to possess knowledge of property management systems such as QUBE, Propman, Vebra, Yardi or similar accompanied by Excel skills. The candidate will be able to create and maintain excellent working relationships and work well with internal and external teams and uphold the values of integrity, respect and teamwork, to win business outcomes.
