A well known Financial Services client of Gleeson's is looking for a Fund Accountant to join them on a contract until 18th December 2020 and there is potential this role could go permanent. They are looking for someone who is available to start within the next 2 weeks or by 14th September. The role will be home based for the duration of the contract however if it does go permanent they would like someone commutable to their Birmingham City Centre office.
Main Tasks
- Maintain accounting records for funds
- Preparing quarterly financial statements for PE funds in accordance with UK and US GAAP, with a view to taking on review responsibilities in due course
- Performing complex calculations in Excel, involving Management Fees and Carried Interest/Performance Fees
- Regular interactions with clients
- Handling ad-hoc client and investor requests
Experience
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
- Experience of US and UK GAAP desirable but not essential
- PE Knowledge desirable but not essential
- Experience with Efront FIA desirable but not essential
- Strong experience of preparing financial statements from underlying books and records
- Strong, competent user of Excel (confident with handling large datasets, Pivot tables, sumifs, vlookups - understanding of macros not required)
- Strong communicator, both spoken and written communication
- A high level of aptitude, and a demonstrable ability to pick up tasks and new concepts quickly
