Senior Bookkeeper – Accountancy Practice

We are a forward-thinking firm of Chartered Accountants and business advisors, with offices in Eastleigh, Andover, and Basingstoke. We require a friendly and confident Senior Bookkeeper for our Basingstoke office.

Role Info:

Senior Bookkeeper – Accountancy Practice
Basingstoke | £28,000 – £35,000 dependant on experience

Due to increased demand in our outsourced services division we are currently recruiting for a hardworking, pro-active and enthusiastic senior bookkeeper.

The senior bookkeeper role encompasses:

+ Maintain central VAT control list for approximately 120 – 170 clients to ensure that records are chased in on a timely basis and that all VAT returns are submitted on time
+ Oversee work on approximately 100 of these clients, to include:
– Manage workflow of each case as and when the records arrive
– On those cases completed by other members of the team complete a VAT and book-keeping review & reconciliation, to include suggesting improved procedures / efficiencies where available
– Ensure that jobs are completed within agreed fee structure and advise portfolio holder of any issues
+ On the same bank of clients, become the point of contact to deal with any ad-hoc queries as an when they arise
+ Provide Sage / Xero / Quickbooks support and/or training when required
+ Management of other processes / implementations as and when required (e.g.: software conversions)

About You:

+ Extensive bookkeeping experience for a number of different business types using a variety of software
+ Similar role in another practice
+ Good organisation and problem solving skills
+ Sage, Xero or Quickbooks experience
+ Some experience of data capture software desirable (Receipt Bank, Auto Entry)
+ Good VAT knowledge
