In-house Tax Accountant Job, Market-Leading Business, Edinburgh, up to £48,000 + benefits

Your new company
Hays Taxation is proud to represent a market-leading organisation in order to recruit for a Tax Accountant. Joining an instantly recognisable and successful business with a first-class market reputation, you will work within a small Tax Team, managing the delivery of accurate compliance and reporting. With a collaborative and forward thinking approach this business offers career development and the opportunity to utilise initiative and creativity in relation to varied projects. With the Tax Function reporting directly to the CFO, you will be an integral part of the wider Finance Team. This opportunity is the result of internal promotion, and offers flexible and remote working (albeit the role will initially be home-based due to present circumstances).

Your new role
As you the Tax Accountant, you will ensure the efficient delivery of accurate tax compliance and reporting requirements. This will be predominately in relation to Corporate Tax but also include management or input of Indirect and Employment Taxes as well as Corporate Interest Restriction and Corporate Criminal Offence. You will be responsible for arranging the day-to-date activities of the tax function, developing and maintaining the Group's tax reporting, forecasting and budgeting process. Further to this, you will be expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of the systems and processes, not only in regard to tax but its interactions with other departments and the shared service centre. In line with this, you will have a particular focus on Making Tax Digital. To ensure success, you will work in close collaboration with the wider Finance Team. You will also be responsible for integrating new entities as the business embarks on its ambitious growth plan. Lastly, you will maintain strong technical knowledge corresponding to legislative changes so that you may contribute to discussions and objectives, across Tax and Finance.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful applicant, you will have a proven track record in delivering high-quality tax compliance and reporting in either an in-house or practice capacity. Ideally, this experience will be supported by a relevant qualification, such as ACA and/or CTA. You will have excellent numeracy and analytical skills with strong attention to detail. You will feel confident communicating with individuals at all levels within the business and have the ability to work to strict deadlines. Knowledge of VAT will also enhance your application but is not essential.

What you'll get in return
In addition to working for a market-leading business, you will receive a competitive salary corresponding to your experience of up to £48,000. Further to this, you will receive a company pension, 25 days annual leave plus statutory days, a range of flexible benefits, and up to 10% bonus. This business offers both flexible and remote working in normal circumstances, and fully supports professional development.
