St Elizabeth's is a charitable organisation that supports children and adults with severe epilepsy and other complex medical conditions and learning disabilities. We provide support through holistic care, health and education services in a safe environment that enables vulnerable people to maximise their personal potential in all areas of life.
Established over 100 years ago, we have a national reputation for specialist and high-quality care, making us a leader in our field. In 2018, the organisation has passed from the ambit of its founders – the Daughters of the Cross – into an independent charity and, as we look to the future, we need to ensure that we are well positioned to respond to the changing needs of our residents, learners and young people.
We are now seeking a new Director of Finance, who will provide authoritative and professional operational leadership to the finance and IT functions. Working with the Trustees, the CEO and the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Finance will support the refinement and implementation of the strategy for St Elizabeth’s, providing specialist financial advice, enabling the charity to fulfil its mission in a cost-effective, financially sustainable manner and deploying wider analytical, communication and commercial skills to help set the organisation’s future direction.
You will have a recognised full accounting qualification, previous experience at Director of Finance level or similar in a comparable organisation – whether charitable, public or private in nature. You will have excellent leadership skills and experience of managing a team, and involvement in the oversight of an IT function. You will be a value-driven professional, able to exhibit a strong commercial nous but at the same time, willingness, and commitment to support the ethos and values of St. Elizabeth’s.
