Your new company are a well established and growing industry business in the Accrington area who are pleased to be recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join their busy finance team on a full time permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and hard working Accounts Assistant with strong Purchase Ledger experience, who is also seeking further exposure to management and commercial accounting. My client are open to offering study support for the right candidate who can grow and develop with the business.

Your new role

Reporting into the Finance Director, your new role is an exciting position for an accounts professional who enjoys working in busy and high volume finance functions. You will ideally be a good SAP user, or have experience using a variety of systems, and be an excellent IT user in general. With a large focus on Purchase Ledger initially, you must have excellent attention to detail, be accurate, and possess the confidence and conviction to challenge in order to protect the business at all times. Experience of invoicing, reconciling, matching & checking invoices as well as payments is crucial.

This role would suit an Accounts Assistant with strong Purchase Ledger experience seeking that step into a more commercial finance position in a business that can offer long term career prospects.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to demonstrate a track record of thriving in an Accounts Assistant, AP or Purchase Ledger role in an industry based organisation (Construction, Manufacturing, Production, etc). You will ideally have AAT qualifications or studying towards, the client is also open to speaking with candidates who are studying (ACA, ACCA, CIMA). Excellent interpersonal skills are an absolute must as you will be the first point of contact to our suppliers.

The ideal candidate will also have experience of working in a rounded finance role and any experience of management accounts role would be a huge plus.

You will receive an extremely competitive salary and benefits package of between £23,000 - £32,000 depending on qualifications and experience, The higher end of the salary scale would be to attract a Part Qualified or studier looking for that next step.
