Director of Finance/CFO Opportunity with a leading educational institution in North East Lincolnshire
Your new company
Hays are delighted to be working exclusively with a leading educational group in North East Lincolnshire who are seeking to appoint a Director of Finance/CFO following the retirement of a long-standing incumbent.
My client is a leading multi-academy trust who provide a flagship education to children across North East Lincolnshire. The trust are a mixture of primary and secondary schools who have demonstrated continual improvement across the board in terms of results and OFSTED outcomes.
Your new role
You will be inheriting a position in a very well run organisation who have had excellent financial management over recent years and are in a very strong position financially following strong strategic oversight by senior management teams.
You will join the trust in an exciting and dynamic role, taking responsibility for the leadership, organisation and management of finance across the Trust, providing strategic direction and maintaining high standards.
This is an exciting role for applicants with MAT/Education experience, suited to an individual who is either proven as a Finance Director/Chief Finance Officer or looking to progress into a number 1 in finance role.
Alongside the strategic management and performance management of all finance staff (currently a team of 6, including One Senior Finance Deputy, Finance Deputy, two Senior finance Assistants and two more Finance Assistants), you will oversee any financial activities within the Academies within the trust.
What you'll need to succeed
A technically competent, dynamic and influential individual will be well suited to this role, alongside demonstrating the ability operate at a strategic level with key stakeholders within the organisation.
You will also have demonstrable experience from both a managerial and professional perspective in a senior multi academy trust finance role.
Experience within the education sector is essential for this role, particularly from a more complex organisational multi-site structure. A recognised accountancy qualification is also beneficial however not essential for this position as a MAT background is of particular importance to my client.
What you'll get in return
Salary - Up to £65,000 depending on experience
Holiday entitlement - 35 days + statutory holiday
Pension - Outstanding 20%+ employer/8% employee contribution
This is an essential appointment for the trust, and the current incumbent retires towards the end of 2020. Therefore the ability to start from October half term is of distinct benefit to prospective applicants, however not essential. If you are unable to start in October, it would be desirable to spend a couple of days with the current incumbent prior to your start date to conduct a handover.
