Finance Controls Manager
Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit an exciting and newly created position of Financial Control Manager. Based out of impressive offices in Manchester this FTSE listed business continues to enjoy exciting growth and are attracting and servicing an ever growing retail customers base, well ahead of projections. They are looking for a strong communicator that can articulate financial data and processes to non Finance stakeholders.
A multi-faceted role which will demand strong organisational, technical, partnering and leadership skills. Reporting to the Finance Director on site, the role will essentially be responsible for the management and development of the financial control environment whilst overseeing an excellent and self sufficient small and specialist team.
The role will be responsible for the ongoing design, implementation and monitoring of specific controls to essentially ensure that that fees are correctly raised, accounted for and in line with best in practice policy.
The key accountability will include:-
- Implementing change to improve current controls, policies and procedures
- Preparation of reports to SMT re: progress and performance
- To lead year a major systems migration project by utilising your strong IT
- Ad-hoc financial reporting to senior stakeholders
· Chairing monthly meetings with business to discuss current issues/plans
· Preparing plans/calendars and action trackers
· Preparing formal reports
· Implementing policies and procedures
· Identification of any problematic charging processes
· Recommending potential solutions to simplify charging mechanism
· Working with business to ensure any proposed changes to the charging structure can be implemented correctly
· Testing of new fee scripts with business
The successful applicant will be fully qualified with a proactive and communicative approach who enjoys a busy fast paced and changeable environment. You will receive excellent business exposure across most areas of the business including Finance, operations, technology, product owners and IT. Staff supervisory skills will put you at an advantage as personality, attitude and a tenacious approach to communicate improvement is key to the role. A background within Financial Services and exposure to financial instruments is advantageous but not essential. You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills ideally where you have been the Finance Lead on Technology based projects. A background in Audit is also of interest.
