Role Overview
The Payments Accountant will not have a typical day-to-day role. Instead, you will be tasked with identifying issues and creating more streamlined processes upon the organisations payments systems – the major method of interaction with customers.
Projects will allow you to be a subject matter expert over the payments systems and processes. You will be a key business partner with almost all departments and no two days will be the same. This role will see you take projects from conception right through to delivery and testing.
Responsibilities
- Train team members on payments regulations and payments scheme rules.
- Attend project workshops to ensure departmental requirements are fully captured.
- Challenge existing processes within the department to identify opportunities for improvements to systems and processes.
- Own and drive personal training, career and self-development.
- Act as a subject matter expert on payment scheme rules.
- Ensure that adequate controls are in place to govern payments processing.
- Attend industry payments related events as required by management.
- Attend project workshops to ensure departmental requirements are fully captured.
- Oversee user acceptance testing of payment related changes to financial systems and processes.
Candidate Profile
- You have knowledge and work experience of payment systems
- You are a finalist or qualified accountant – CIMA, ACCA, ACA
- You have a passion to join a project-based team
