The successful candidate for the Head of Finance and Operations will take over the finance function; leading a small team to provide key financial insight to aid strategic decision making. As a member of the leadership team this individual will have additional responsibilities that will allow them commercial freedom to negotiate with providers. They will be expected to investigate other ways of utilising business assets to add value and generate income.

The key responsibilities of the Head of Finance and Operations role will be:


  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts including detailed variance analysis and written commentary
  • Ensure all monthly financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Assist in financial decision making
  • Produce, present and review annual budgets and forecasts
  • Review the financial management processes and create, implement, and maintain new and efficient processes where necessary
  • Maintain monthly P&L and cash flow reporting
  • Manage, develop and support two direct reports


  • Management of the business' payroll function
  • Negotiate annual contracts with external suppliers
  • Manage HR data collection and monitoring
  • Commercial development of the businesses fixed asset register


The successful candidate for the Head of Finance and Operations will be:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA)
  • Team management and development experience
  • Excellent IT and advanced Excel skills are desirable
  • Demonstrable experience of the development of financial processes
  • A good communicator with business partnering skills
  • Dynamics 365 Experience is desirable but not essential
