Halliday Marx have partnered with a creative independent software company to recruit a Qualified Management accountant on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.
This role will report to the Group Financial Controller and will be their number 2.
Responsible for the whole set of accounts right up to trial balance.
Intercompany reconciliation preparation, ensuring all the intercompany balances tie in and calculating foreign exchange differences.
Monthly accruals, reviewing other team members' work.
Review of the Balance Sheet
Review of all monthly GL reconciliations.
Preparing the month end file for review.
Responsibility for consolidation including reviewing the trial balances to ensure that the TBs are ready for consolidation.
Full responsibility for the sales function, including developing and maintaining a close relationship with the sales and project management teams in order to monitor the progress of projects and billing cycles. Resolving any debtor queries and final responsibility for debt collection. This includes managing the accounting for company revenues, deferred income, accrued income, sales pipelines, and detailed project reports. Reviewing all contracts to ensure they are correct.
Full responsibility for the company's project management, timesheet and billing system.
Reviewing actual versus budget
Preparation of the monthly board pack for Excom team. Narrating the variances for Exec/ Shareholder level review.
Assistance with the annual budgeting process and updating monthly forecasts.
Preparation of FRS101 annual financial statements and supporting schedules, with the assistance from the Accountants.
Reviewing cashflows regularly with the Group Financial Controller. Reviewing the costs by liaising with the Financial Accountant.
Working closely with non-finance teams to determine their reporting requirements.
Project tracking and providing assistance to Project Managers where required.
Constantly improving reporting and producing accurate management information.
Working closely with teams to review project estimates in Statement of Works and contracts from the outset. Calculating the annual standard costs.
Reviewing of company R&D calculation bi-annually for annual review by tax advisers.
Reviewing the quarterly company VAT return
Providing cover for other team members during times of absence, including deputising the Group Financial Controller.
Maintaining robust and efficient financial accounting systems and controls, ensuring the financial integrity of all transactions and security of all group assets.
Identifying improvement opportunities in areas such as cost reduction, controls, revenue enhancement and finance/accounting policy.
Reviewing invoicing schedules/invoices
You need:
An accounting qualification g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
Good communication skills
Advanced Excel
Attention to detail.
Enthusiasm, are a team player and have the ability to drive change.
