Group Finance Director

This is a newly created opportunity for a Group Finance Director to help shape the future direction of a successful property organisation headquartered in the Midlands with ambitious plans for growth.

This appointment will be paramount to the continued development of the business.

Our client is a highly successful, privately owned property business who build and operate, and provide flexible innovative property solutions in a niche market. They have experienced rapid expansion and the strategy is for continued growth by continuing to offer a level of accommodation and service that is unique to them in their niche market.

With the continued growth and increased complexity that comes with it, the business is looking to invest and strengthen its management team with the appointment of a new Group Finance Director. This appointment will be paramount to the continued development of the business.

Description

As the Group Finance Director based in the West Midlands, reporting to the main board, you will play a key role in the ongoing growth and success of the business. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the Group's banking relationships and funding strategy
• Partnering with the Managing Directors and other key stakeholders across the business to challenge and drive business performance
• Contributing to the development strategy
• Providing leadership to the finance function, ensuring proper accounting practices, governance and controls processes are in place
• This is a board level role and an appointment that is critical to the businesses ongoing growth

Profile

For this Group Finance Director role in the West Midlands, you will have/be:

• A qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and experienced Finance Director with a successful track record of operating at group level in sizeable businesses
• Must have experience of operating in the property sector and ideally both developer and operator experience and development experience will be essential
• You will have a broad range of experience, which must include managing banking relationships and prior experience of raising external finance, ideally with vast experience of sourcing Development, Mortgage and Bond Finance
• Experience of establishing new businesses and prior M&A would be considered advantageous
• The role requires an individual with gravitas and experience of operating at Board level and a strong ability to influence Executive teams will be important
• In addition to this you will have a commercial outlook, allied to the energy and foresight needed to help the business to continue to prosper
