This is an opportunity for an experienced FD/ accountant to join a leading creative agency with offices in the North West and London. Serving some of the leading international brands the company has an excellent reputation and an enviable client base.

A key position responsible for the smooth running of the organisation's entire financial function. You will be a key part of the senior management team responsible for the sustainable growth of the business in line with the business vision and strategy.

The role:

This is a hands on role, reporting into the MD. The position has two direct reports, a company accountant and a bookkeeper. It is also responsible for oversight of business operation including FM, Legal, H&S and compliance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing strategic consultation to MD and senior management team to align with growth plans.
  • Line management of company accountant and bookkeeper.
  • Managing risk within the business both financially and legally.
  • Manage company-wide budgetary planning.
  • Oversee, review, and adhere to the budgets for each company department.
  • Analyse the financial climate and market trends to assist the SMT in creating strategic plans for the future.
  • Interpret complex financial information and provide updates and information.
  • Monitor cash flow, project profitability, and other financial information.
  • Collating the monthly management information for discussion with the senior management team including presenting information and recommendations to ensure the most profitable outcomes.
  • Reviewing tools, systems and reporting to ensure the company is provided with the right information.
  • Oversight of the operations team, helping to drive efficiencies and ensure smooth running of the business.

What we are looking for:

To be successful, you will need to be a fully qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA accountant. We would expect you to have at least 5 years' experience gained in an agency environment and a strong understanding the nuances of professional services accounting. You'll have supported a business in corporate negotiations, have strong financial modelling skills and risk assessment / management experience. In addition to these technical strengths, you also need to be a strong motivator, enthusiastic, not afraid to roll up your sleeves in order to drive high standards both in our financial management and across all the supporting functions.
