Financial Controller

Very well established family run construction services group based in North London ,urgently require a experienced Financial Controller to work closely with the MD and manage a busy accounts team. This is a very hands on role and
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing Management Accounts and Monthly reporting for 2 companies
* Preparing VAT Returns, PAYE, Year End Accounts (planning and meeting deadlines)
* Undertaking some day to day (transactional) responsibilities such as the daily bank reconciliations
* Invoice discount reporting
* Negotiating Asset Finance
* Fixed Assets monitoring
* Being the lead re Audits and liaising with external Accountants
* Budgeting ,Costing ,cash-flow forecasting and variance reporting/analysis
* Producing Business Plans
* Managing a team of 8- 10 in the Accounts staff
* Preparing a Monthly Management Board Pack
* 'Bigger Picture' items such as Bank services reviews and Accounting Software package reviews & implementation

The Ideal Candidate will :
Have worked in both the profession and in Commerce /Industry
* Be a robust ,confident , high calibre individual with excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels,and work well within a very busy and often pressurised environment
* Have held a position of Financial Controller or higher for minimum 6 years in a small or medium size company with annual turnover exceeding £20M
* be formally Qualified . ACA/ACCA, ACMA (but may consider an exceptional QBE with relevant experience
* Not be shy of 'hard work' - need someone with a 'roll their sleeves up' approach , as this will be an extremely demanding and busy role
* Be looking for long-term role and available at short notice
* Have a Construction/ Waste management /Logistics /Plant Hire or similar industry background .
* Demonstrate strong Attention to detail/accuracy
* Be Versatile and adaptable and have previously worked closely with directors of a family run business
* Live within a sensible commute of Tottenham in North London
