Financial Accountant - Stock

Based in Watford, Hertfordshire, our and instantly recognised and ambitious retail client is looking for a Qualified Accountant to join the business on an interim basis for the next 3-6 months and work as a Financial Accountant, assisting with their complex accounting processes with a direct link to Stock.

This job would suit an experienced & technically minded Accountant who is ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with experience in a large retail/leisure/food business with nationwide movement of stock and advanced level Excel skills.

Our client is a market leading, nationwide business with over 200 locations and a brand that continues to grow year on year.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working within a large entity with stock experience and be competent to hit the ground running. You will be responsible for liaising with internal & external stakeholders, 3rd party suppliers and other individuals within the business, therefore excellent communication skills and an ability to present information clearly is imperative.

Job responsibilities:

• Production of weekly revenue figures, resolving any imbalances
• Preparation, review and ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, resolving any issues where necessary
• Intercompany reconciliations management

• Prepare analysis of stock gains and losses for inclusion in profit & loss forecasts
• Identify trends in stock performance and make recommendations for how performance can be improved
• Communicate and influence various departments and business partners on findings
• Preparation of management accounts and validation of cost of sales charges
• Preparation of thorough reconciliations of all stock holdings at sites and the national distribution centre
• Business partner the Audit team as well as other teams across the Finance function

This role will be home based for the foreseeable but could potentially require the ad-hoc need to travel into the Watford Head Office.
