Senior Fund Controller - European Real Estate. Our Client is a very successful and prestigious commercial real estate investment company who operate in many countries around the globe. Their current AUM is in the £billions. They are a currently looking for a Senior Fund Controller to operate in either their London or Luxembourg office.

The Role requires the individual to manage the financial accounting and reporting across a range of real assets funds and segregated mandates, as well as be responsible for developing and maintaining robust controls and process. You will be directly reporting to the Real Estate Operations Director, carrying out duties such as:

  • Review and approval of IFRS/ Local GAAP financials within the fund structure.
  • Management and oversight of fund administrators/SPV external accounting service providers.
  • Calculation of fund and investor performance returns, Trading NAV, INREV NAV & TER, unit/share prices and management fees.
  • Management of the annual audit process for relevant funds and entities.
  • Monitoring and management of tax filings/tax compliance for income/corporate tax, withholding tax, capital gains tax, value add tax and FATCA/CRS.
  • Deal/Fund tax structuring support for Portfolio Management teams.
  • Cash management across the entire fund structure including regular capitalisation and liquidity forecasts in compliance with the fund specific cash management strategy defined by Portfolio Management.
  • Processing capital calls, distributions, and redemptions.
  • Active management of the SPV/Fund liquidation process.
  • Financial due diligence of new target investments including financial appraisal.
  • Preparation and/or review and interrogation of financial models.

The Person must be qualified (ACA / ACCA) and have 5 or more years' experience working within the real estate investment / real estate fund sector. It is preferable that you will be a fluent German speaker. They should possess an in depth understanding of common fund structures, tax issues and current accounting standards (IFRS and Lux GAAP). Strong IT skills including the use of a property system such as MRI / YARDI, TRAMPS, QUBE (or similar) are a must. The incumbent must have a 'hands-on' mentality, an autonomous work ethic, and are willing to learn and be bold.
