Based at our Head Office in Wilmslow, Cheshire
or at one our regional offices in either Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh or London

The ICO is expanding its analytical capabilities and seeking Financial Analysts to join our team.

Whether the issue is understanding the commercial issues facing our stakeholders, advising on the potential impact of financial penalties or simply gaining a better understanding of innovative data-driven business models, financial analysis can help us to understand these issues. As an Financial Analyst you will support the ICO’s work across the full range of our responsibilities, ensuring that our actions are underpinned with robust financial analysis.

You will provide high quality financial analysis and research, collaborating with other experts in multidisciplinary teams. You will work flexibly across a range of projects, identifying the key finance and accounting issues, analysing accounting data and other evidence to support your arguments, and communicating them effectively to a range of audiences.

The ICO is the UK’s independent regulator for information rights, promoting data privacy for individuals and openness in public bodies. We regulate under a wide range of legislation, including responsibilities for data protection and freedom of information.

The ICO’s work is interesting and immensely rewarding – it is of national importance and increasingly in the public eye. We are at the forefront of information rights policy development, providing direct advice to the public, and enforcing the UK’s data protection and freedom of information laws. We hold a unique position as a regulator across the whole of the private, public and third sectors. 

About you

To succeed in this role you will need experience of business, financial or accounting analysis in a strategic or commercial role, and be able to demonstrate the application of finance and accounting concepts in unfamiliar circumstances. You will be a problem solver and an effective written and oral communicator, able to take responsibility for workstreams, leading delivery and managing conflicting demands on your time.
