Accountant - Peterborough

Our client, a manufacturing business with a global presence, based in Peterborough is looking to recruit an experienced Accountant to join its finance team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant role within the Business Support team at its' facility in Peterborough. The successful candidate will be required to report and analyse monthly results for Research & Development (R&D) and Current Product Support Engineering Spend. In addition to having a forward-looking approach to forecast future spend and analyse trends

Whilst this opportunity sits within the Finance function, a key component of this role will be effective business partnering with senior stakeholders in the Product Management and Engineering functions.


Job Responsibilities and Duties:
*Month End close and Reporting support to the Product Group and Engineering functions.
*A focus on compliance to ensure adherence to Sarbanes Oxley (SOx) requirements
*Consolidation of balance of year forecasts for R&D and Current Product Maintenance spend
*Submission of Annual Business Plans, quarterly forecasts and 5 Year spend plans to help achieve short and longer term spend targets
*Supervisor responsibilities for an Apprentice level resource, including Performance Management processes

Skills and Experience:

Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

*Educated to a degree level or qualified by experience

*Professional Certification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)

*The ability to demonstrate strong customer focus, accountability and effective communication skills

*Must be confident presenting financial information to senior management

Candidates may have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

*Supervisor or Leadership experience

*Experienced user of MS Excel and PowerPoint

Salary: £47,000 to £53,000 (Depending on Experience)

Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
