Financial Controller - VC backed start up

Due to rapid expansion, an Online Food Business is recruiting a Financial Controller in a new role on a permanent basis. The company are VC backed and this role reports to the CFO and manages a team. The business has performed well in last 6 months and has secured further funding and new investment. As a company they are passionate about the environment and the welfare of their employees and customers. In this role you will be instrumental in delivering ambitious growth plans and taking the company to the next stage as it moves into supplying new products and channels.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant who can demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be highly organised, and possesses excellent attention to detail. Naturally, you will have advanced skills in Excel, be technically excellent and experienced in managing & developing a team.

You will be responsible for end to end Financial Reporting and delivery of accurate, timely, relevant reporting and accounting information. E.g. management accounts, investor reporting and the audit. Strive to improve systems and processes on an ongoing basis and take ownership of the month end close process. You will sign off all Supplier pay runs and own short-term cash flow forecasting and cash management. This role will also be responsible for all Financial Control Review overhead costs and come up with solutions to reduce spend where possible. Support Business Partnering with relevant departments and design and implement a robust and future proof financial control environment. You will be the technical expert in accounting policies and support the Leadership Team on ad hoc projects e.g. Brexit readiness & expansion internationally.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing start up. It is based in Central London and paying a strong basic salary of £75 – 80,000 plus package.
