Your new firm
A modern firm of Chartered Accountants based in Altrincham are looking to appoint a Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA) to join the team as a Portfolio Manager. This role has arisen due to an increased workload and internal reshuffle of the workload. This is a fantastic career opportunity to take on some portfolio management responsibility.

Your new role
As a Portfolio Manager you will report directly into the partners and take ownership of a portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships, OMBs and large limited companies. In this role you will be responsible for managing and delegating the workload amongst the team, review accounts, bookkeeping and VAT work produced by junior staff, finalise accounts, lead client meetings and take an active involvement in providing tax and strategic advice to the business leaders. You will oversee two junior members of the team which will include mentoring and developing their skill set.

What you'll need to succeed
The firm is seeking an ambitious qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) who has a strong general practice background. You must be comfortable undertaking accounting assignments through to submission and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of liaising with clients and maintaining good client relationships. The firm utilise cloud based software and solutions for their clients so any knowledge of Xero & Quickbooks will be preferable. Whilst previous portfolio management experience isn't necessary to apply for this role you must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and organisational skills.

The role offers a competitive salary of between £35000 - £45000 plus 25 days holiday, subsidised parking, funded ACA / ACCA subs & CPD pension and working hours of 9am - 5pm. The firm will consider full time or part time hours of 4 days a week.
