This position has arisen to cover a maternity leave in the business and will be a 9-12 month fixed term contract position

My client are a SME manufacturing business based in the Gloucestershire area and are market leading in their field of expertise
Description
The main responsibilities in this role are:
- To maintain the integrity of system data and the nominal ledger through review of transactions, reconciliations, and journal entries, ensuring expenditure is allocated and monitored accurately
- Acting as business partner to key stakeholders of the business on financial performance and KPIs
- Management of finance team
- Preparation and reporting of monthly financial statements, group reporting, variance analysis and other financial reports/presentations to support and inform business decisions
- Monitoring, analysis and reporting on the impact of cost changes within the business
- Analysis of financial KPIs to give support to business decisions
- Implement and maintain the standard cost system; ensuring costing is accurate and consistent
- Responsibility for the preparation of forecasts and annual budget
- Preparation of the annual accounts and liaising with auditors as necessary
- To contribute to regular and ad hoc business projects
- Development of reporting through system/process enhancements
Profile
The successful candidate for this position will have:
- Ideally a recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
- Strong leadership skills and a track record of managing finance teams
- Experience of preparing monthly management accounts
- Experience of overseeing transactional processing & credit control
- Good technical skills to include preparation of statutory accounts
- Demonstrable ability to engage with, support and challenge key stakeholders within the business.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as an active team player
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise and multi-task
- Strong IT skills, particularly with MS Excel
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
