Hays are pleased to be supporting an established organisation in Milton Keynes who are seeking a Finance Manager. Reporting to the UK Finance Director, this interesting and varied position will predominantly involve producing regular financial and management reporting ensuring high levels of accuracy, quality and integrity for a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Key tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Undertake month end closing activities including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, provisions and prepayment calculations
- Responsibility for the completion of the monthly management accounts; reviewing variances to budget and prior year as well as providing commentary to the senior leadership team
- Completion of the monthly departmental cost reports; recognising and correcting reporting errors, analysing variances and undertaking review meetings with departmental heads to understand variances to budget and challenge any areas of overspend
- Supporting the Commercial Team to secure revenue projects by undertaking project specific margin analysis
- Assisting the Finance Director in the year end closing activities such as the completion of information for the external auditors and preparation of the statutory accounts
- Act as a point of contact with an overseas Shared Service Centre Raising of manual invoices and purchase orders
- Preparation and submission of governmental returns; VAT, EC Sales Lists etc.
- Provide support and assistance to the Finance department with ad-hoc requests as directed
The position would suit and ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified or finalist accountant within experience gained in a commercial role.
Good working knowledge of SAP and being proficient with Excel is preferred. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial personnel. Well organised with good time management skills you will have the ability to prioritise deadline, be flexible and able to adapt to the needs of the business.
