Group Financial Accountant | London | £40000-£450000 | Media / Entertainment

A leading media business are seeking a pro-active and enthusiastic individual to join their finance team as a Group Financial Accountant on a 6 month FTC. This is a role covering both internal and external financial reporting. The Group Financial Accountant is an integral part of the Group Finance Team and the will be expected to drive the quality of management reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Management Reporting

  • Support with the preparation, review, interpretation and further development of the Group consolidation and Management Accounts for circulation to the Board on a monthly basis
  • Close involvement in the month end close including progress tracking, verification of data and key metrics, interpretation of foreign exchange movements, consolidation journals and resolution of outstanding matters
  • Liaising with subsidiary finance teams around the World
  • Develop & implement recommendations to improve subsidiary and Group processes
  • Perform detailed critical review of specific individual subsidiaries, including providing oversight of financial performance.

Financial Reporting

  • Provide at year end and other reporting periods
  • Assist in drafting certain core notes and disclosures for the financial statements and investor relations presentation
  • Assist with the preparation of subsidiary statutory accounts
  • Own the accounting for certain investment and holding companies

Group Consolidation Systems

  • On-going administration - primary contact for subsidiary queries, creating users and maintaining user lists, monthly system roll-forward
  • Help maintain the “Group Reporting Portal” and other large and complex key financial reporting models
  • Ensure that the consolidation systems are operating properly

Knowledge, Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications –full or part qualified preferred ACCA, ACA
  • An interest in reporting systems and a logical and investigative approach
  • Strong Excel skills
  • A self-starter with the drive, determination and commitment to get things done
