Accounts Senior or AM ACA ACCA qualified audit trained seeking move to accounts role Southampton Top 10

This is a great opportunity for an audit-trained ACA or ACCA qualified accountant to make a move from audit into an accounts-based position with one of the areas leading accountancy practices.

In this role you will provide clients with an efficient and effective service. This would be through the control and efficient use of the department resources and also by performing the work for a few clients within the portfolio. Liaison with other departments is essential to ensure close liaison on client affairs and assisting in administration tasks to ensure a smooth running of the department.

Key responsibilities will be completing management and statutory accounts, including related services, and setting budgets - awareness of commercial aspects of clients' business and impact on our work. It will also include arrangement of timetable, booking of staff, planning and completion of management accounts, statutory accounts, VAT returns and other related assignments.

To be successful in this role you will need to ACA or ACCA qualified with a good academic track record, and ideally have significant experience of statutory accounts (in particular audited accounts), management accounts and VAT returns gained within a professional services environment.

Ideally experience will also include technical accounting knowledge applied to the preparation of accounts under FRS102 and IFRS; experience of producing group financial statements, cash flows and processing consolidation elimination journals; experience of working with entrepreneurial, OMB and SME clients and demonstrable working knowledge of accounting standards.

You will also need to have good working knowledge of skill requirements of staff at various levels to ensure work undertaken by appropriate individual and strong communication skills in order to liaise with clients, Directors, Partners, staff and other professionals.
