Interim Financial Reporting Accountant

Sheffield

£350 - £500 per day – Work from Home

4 months, possibly longer

Our client is a South Yorkshire based PLC, who are currently looking to bolster their group finance function during a busy period, and time of transition. This role will predominantly help deliver the year end consolidation, reporting and audit requirements on time and to a high standard

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Annual consolidation – support group finance with preparation of the group consolidation, including review of information from operating companies, review of journals and preparation of working papers 
  • External financial reporting – direct involvement in the preparation of the group and company financial statements section of the Annual Report and Accounts including preparation of notes and cash flow statement and quality review of full document
  • Technical papers – preparation of technical position papers to support positions taken on areas of complexity or accounting
  • External audit – preparation of deliverables for the group audit and liaison with the Group’s external auditors
  • Ad-hoc – support for any ad-hoc reporting requirements

Candidate profile

The candidate will be a fully-qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA ideally from a Big 4 or Top 10 firm) with a strong technical background. The role holder should have considerable experience of IFRS, preparation of consolidations and preparation of group financial statements/annual reports, preferably of a listed entity. The role holder should have experience of producing reports to deadlines, should be a confident self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision. With excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build relationships internally and externally, the role holder will also need:

  • the ability to plan, prioritise and work under pressure to meet tough deadlines, with high attention to detail

  • excellent skills in MS office products including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
