A Yorkshire based charity who are doing some great work and have a resilient income stream are seeking a Finance Manager to join in a newly created role. The role is initially for 6 months, but could become permanent for the right candidate.

This role is a newly created position of Finance Manager to work collaboratively with the existing team. The role is initially for 6 months, but could become permanent for the right candidate. This role will have more of a focus across financial accounting tasks, but the intention is for the role to also assist in covering management accounting responsibilities covered by other team members to develop a team who can support across different areas as the needs of the charity require. Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Production of year statutory accounts and co-ordination and delivery of the annual audit
- Ensuring adherence with relevant accounting standards and that policies and procedures are followed
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
- Production of cash forecast reports, including extracts for inclusion in management accounts
- Maintenance of internal controls
- Responsibility for fleet and insurance
- Preparation of VAT return and advise on VAT issues
Candidates must be fully accountancy qualified ( ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA or equivalent) and will have previous experience within a similar role and a current knowledge of UK GAAP.
Whilst previous charity experience would be useful, this is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to make the move into the sector and is interested in developing their skills within this area.
This is a Finance Manager role for initially 6 months and could lead onto a permanent position for the successful candidate.
At the moment this organisation are working entirely remotely, but with a view that they will look to return to a blended office based and working from home approach.
