Qualified Financial Controller for a niche services business in Birmingham.

Hays are delighted to be supporting a niche SME services business based in Birmingham city centre to recruit a Financial Controller.

Your new role
As Financial Controller you will support the Finance Director in the day to day control of a small and well established team of circa 5. You will be responsible for all Financial and Management Accounts preparation, presenting month end accounts to the Finance Director and being the main point of contact with the external auditors. Other duties will be preparing the VAT returns and overseeing payroll. You will also be responsible for training and developing the team, looking at ways to improve the month end process and systems.

This is a role for someone who has either worked as a Financial Controller or looking for their first number 2 role.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a fully Qualified Accountant, ideally with a background in property or housing and be looking to take the next step to Controller in a well established SME environment. Previous experience as a Finance Manager or Controller is essential for this role as is a proven track record working in hands on roles.

The company will offer a salary of £55,000 to £65,000 plus generous benefits depending on experience.
