About Us

Raven is a business with a clear social purpose: building homes and changing lives in Surrey and Sussex. We aim to be an outstanding provider of homes, a cornerstone of the community and an innovative employer.

The Role

As a Payroll Analyst, you’ll be part of our Financial Control & Transactions team but will also work closely with our People Team – coordinating the outsourced monthly payroll for Raven Housing Trust as well as acting as main point of contact for payroll, pension providers and HMRC. Your responsibilities as Payroll Analyst will range from checking, calculating and inputting payments and deductions in line with legislation and contractual entitlements, to investigating and resolving system issues and responding to employee payroll queries.

Candidate Requirements

With a Payroll Technician Certificate or similar, you’ll need comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of payroll calculations, personal taxes and expenses, including P11D, maternity and sickness, redundancy, holiday entitlements and court orders. Comfortable working with an outsourced payroll arrangement and with HMRC, the Payroll Analyst must be able to handle a breadth of complex pay and system-related issues and should have a proven ability to use, interrogate and update HR/Payroll databases, preferably with iTrent and Business Objects experience, plus SunSystems.

The Payroll Analyst role will lead on systems/legislation changes including implementation of new payroll system.

The role calls for excellent problem solving and decision-making skills, with a highly professional approach to managing wide-ranging issues and queries from external advisors, 3rd parties and internal stakeholders. You should also share our values:

  • Earning trust by being open and accountable
  • Listening with an open mind
  • Working collaboratively
  • Caring about making things better

What We Offer In Return

We trust our staff to work as a team and be their best. We offer competitive salaries and benefits, a great pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement, plus support to develop your skills and career.
