Financial Controller for a Group of businesses in the Warrington area.
Hays have been retained by a long standing client to recruit a new Financial Controller. This Group of businesses is within the Construction and Industrial Services sector - they have over 20 different legal entities and SPVs within the group. Due to continued growth the business has restructured the Finance department and created a new Financial Controller position to support the Finance Director and manage a team of six.
As Financial Controller you will be fully responsible for ensuring that accurate management and statutory accounts are produced for each legal entity. This will mean directly managing an experienced team, working closely with external auditors and also partnering with internal department heads. This is a broad role which will touch on all areas of the business but fundamentally this is a hands on and technical accounting role. As Financial Controller you will be preparing and reviewing accounts.
As a fully qualified accountant it is expected that you will be formally trained in Practice and can evidence working with multiple companies and preferably have experience of consolidations. You should be up to date with the latest accountancy standards and demonstrate a flair for Financial Accounting whilst also being able to add value as part of the senior leadership team.
