Job Description
My client is seeking to recruit a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join the company on a fixed-term basis. The new incumbent will be based in London
This role is a key part of the Global Finance team supporting, and driving improvements in, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting across the Smiths Division, and on a regional basis supporting the Europe & Africa Region.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Divisional & Group Reporting: Manage the analysis of consolidated financial information, ensuring accuracy and consistency, throughout the monthly reporting cycle. Includes the review of interim and year end results, including Group board, divisional board and regional management teams. Manage preparation of divisional performance reports for quarterly/monthly business updates to the board. Drive analysis and reporting of commercial trends, e. in pricing, competition etc.
- Regional Reporting & Analysis: ensure effective business partnering support is provided to the Europe & Africa region, including weekly forecasting, month end results consolidation/analysis and budgeting/forecasting support.
- Commercial bid support: support financial reviews of commercial bids, including RORB, DORB, Investment Committee. Provide valuable data such as win/loss analysis.
- Analytics and Business Information: Support the analytics strategy and manage implementation of new Hyperion financial reporting and planning system.
- Strategic plan: Provide financial support to the five year strategic planning process.
- Budgeting & forecasting: Manage the budgeting and forecasting process for the whole division, including preparation of consolidated information and presentation of data to senior management. Challenge regional and entity teams on forecast numbers, and work to drive forecast accuracy improvements.
- Support Acquisition & Divestment activity: Provide financial valuations and sensitivity analysis on potential M&A opportunities and prepare presentations to the senior leadership team.
- Continuous improvement: identify areas for improvement in financial analysis, forecasting and commercial support, drive improvements in efficiency and quality of business support. Identify opportunities to streamline, automate or digitise reporting, and reduce manual work.
- Communication: maintain open and clear lines of communications between the divisional HQ and the business units throughout the world. Maintain effective communication with divisional Board members and senior stakeholders at divisional HQ.
The Individual
- Fully qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA, CPA(Big 4 ACA ideally) .
- Previous experience managing a team of 2.
- Previous experience in and FP&A Manager role within a large(ideally tech) company.
- Strong analytical skills.
- The ability and motivation to persistently pursue and achieve effective results which drive the business forward.
- The ability to effectively manage the performance of people, monitoring progress on objectives and behaviours and coaching others for success.
- The ability to make effective, timely decisions in a complex, global market by sourcing and analysing critical information.
- Strong communication and influencing skills. Ability to work across all Functions, units and locations.
- The ability to build an effective network of relationships both internally and externally, understanding their customer's needs.
