Group Accountant - Real Estate - OUR CLIENT is a real estate investment, development and advisory company whose investments encompass various real estate asset classes across London and the UK. The company is recognised for its innovative and diverse approach to creating long term yield and value from real estate. They also play an active part in formulating the appropriate capital structures, financing and provide asset management and development guidance. The ROLE of Group Accountant will entail following duties:

  • Quarterly management reporting across a range of Group entities including preparation of commentaries and presentation to the Board. Including accounts, cash flows and other information.
  • Preparing year end accounts.
  • Overseeing VAT, Corporation and Income tax compliance across the Group.
  • Preparing accounting journals.
  • Reviewing payroll and preparing annual Forms P11D and PAYE Settlement Agreements.
  • Overseeing Accounts Payable including reviewing payment runs, managing cash flows and ensuring that ledgers are reconciled.
  • Managing fee income including adhering to Advisory Agreements in place with clients and raising sales invoices as necessary.
  • Preparing ad hoc reports as requested by management.
  • FCA reporting.
  • Filing of recurring and ad hoc ONS returns.
  • Liaising with outsourced providers of services to the Group, including tax advisors, legal counsel, accountants and auditors.
  • Managing bank accounts and relationships with bankers.

THE PERSON: To be considered for the role, you must be ACA or ACCA (or equivalent) with 2-3 years post qualified experience. You must possess a good working knowledge of GAAP (particularly UK GAAP and IFRS) and consolidated accounting experience. You are expected to understand VAT, UK Corporation Tax and other UK taxes and be able to prepare statutory financial statements and management and board reports. Also, you should have experience in using accounting systems as well as have strong Excel skills. The incumbent is expected to be a strong communicator with excellent English language skills, be able to work to set deadlines and able to work effectively as part of a team.
