Your new organisation
Guildford Borough Council have been delivering outstanding service to the community and during the recent challenges have continued to do so without any compromise. During the last few months, the Council has made some changes in the way they work and operate, to maintain their service levels and increase productivity while doing so. Guildford and the surrounding area is undergoing some major changes with regeneration and redevelopment which makes it an exciting and interesting time to join.

Your new role
This is a key role within finance, and you will be joining a well-established team and report into the Lead Management Accountant. You will provide financial management advice to allocated services and their respective managers who may not have detailed financial management experience and be required to Business Partner effectively. You will be responsible for preparing budgets for the medium-term financial strategy, variance analysis closing of accounts and assess the financial implications to changes in policy and proposals.

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will be qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or ACA) but holding an AAT level 4 qualification will be considered, along with having previous management accounting experience. Previous experience working in Council’s will be advantageous along with having excellent communication skills and experience of business partnering with non-finance staff and stakeholders.
