Part Time Accounts Assistant - Creative Arts - Central London

My client, a Creative Arts business based in Central London are currently looking for a well rounded Accounts Assistant to join on a part time basis.

This role will be 3/4 days per week until Spring 2021 where it will then be reduced to 2 days per week. T

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the daily cash book
  • Assisting with monthly bank reconciliations
  • Reviewing and posting any missing bank movements
  • Reconciling the gallery's petty cash and posting expenses
  • Reviewing and posting staff expenses and working with assistants to ensure expense reports are satisfactorily prepared each month
  • Matching incoming AR payments to sales invoices and updating sales software
  • Notifying relevant parties once AR payments are received
  • Posting AR receipts to accounting software
  • Preparing sundry invoices from order form
  • Posting AP invoices and setting up the regular AP payment runs on accounting software
  • Preparing payment files for uploading to the bank
  • Responding to internal and external queries on AP payment statuses
  • Preparing AP and expenditure reports
  • Assisting with the review of client AML documents and maintaining customer due diligence files
  • Assisting in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and responding to auditor requests
  • Assisting in the preparation of various tax returns, including VAT, EC sales, artist resale right, etc.

Key skills:

  • Previous experience working as part of a finance function
  • A background within the Creative industry would be highly desirable
  • Studying towards or qualified ACCA/CIMA would be advantageous
  • Good fundamental knowledge of UK accounting and tax principles and familiarity with accounting software
  • Great knowledge of Excel and Google docs and the ability to work with and manipulate financial data
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work proactively and autonomously with an understanding of how to prioritise time-sensitive and competing tasks
