Accountant

Elevation Accountancy & Finance currently have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic, recently qualified Accountant for a successful construction business close to Kirkby-in-Ashfield. They turnover approximately £100 Million and operate out of modern offices in a convenient location so easily commutable from Nottingham, Derby or Chesterfield.

Reporting straight into the Head of Finance, you will be a key member of the team providing full support around the month end provision as well as working on a number of exciting projects that come into the department. It will have a good mix of financial and management accounting tasks along with budgeting and forecasting for the business. The role will be ideal for a newly qualified accountant from either practice or industry looking to grow and develop their skill set with the help and support of a good mentor.

Duties & Responsibilities will include:

*Preparation of the monthly consolidated results including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
*Monthly balance sheet reconciliation
*Preparation of the monthly finance pack
*Conducting monthly cost reviews with the Groups operating divisions and central functions
*Assisting with cash reporting and forecasting
*Preparation of the annual financial statements and interim results under IFRS
*Management of several technical accounting areas including; lease accounting, expected loss provisioning, investment properties and intangible assets
*Working with the finance team and audit team to deliver the year end audit and interim review
*Responsibility for the annual corporation tax computations for the group
*Supporting the Head of Financial Reporting with the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process
*Preparation and reporting of the business KPI's
*Preparation of capex appraisals to support investment decision making
*Streamline finance processes to improve efficiency
*Support on ad-hoc projects as required

To be considered for this role you MUST have the following:

*A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
*Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders
*A self-motivated individual who works well in a team and alone
*Highly organised with a structured approach to delivery of work
*A willingness to learn and develop new skills
*Experience of financial accounting and IFRS
*IT literate with strong Excel skills
