Reporting Accountant (Assets & Investments)

Based: Preston

Salary: up to £45k dependent on experience, excellent opportunities in a growing business and team

Our client is a fast progressing, growing, successful business based in Lancashire. Successfully placing 3 staff members with them this year to assist with their growth/transformation plans they are an excellent business to work for, providing opportunities for future growth internally. This role will be sat within the Asset & Investments team, looking after the groups asset portfolio, responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all reporting. Role will require liaising with internal finance teams/departments so you must be a strong communicator and driven.

Role:

  • Providing first class insights and reporting in relation to actual and expected performance of the groups assets
  • Financial appraisal of schemes to forecast performance to aid strategic decisions such as investment of disposal of Assets
  • Preparing management accounts, business plans and reports around current and expected performance of assets
  • Reporting on actual operating profit vs profit margin vs business plans
  • Detailed analysis of actual performance with a focus on underperforming and over performing asses
  • Working closely with Operations Managers, Investment Managers and group to identify, understand and control key operational drivers
  • Setting up KPI's and reporting to ensure operational drivers are tracked and monitored
  • Development and monthly update of 5 year rolling forecasts for all assets including year to date actual performance and updating forecasts
  • Cash flow forecasting, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis and commentary
  • Input into various reporting such as board reports, dashboard reports, business plan KPI reports

Experience:

  • Newly qualified Accountant/finalist - ACA/CIMA/ACCA
  • Reporting experience - able to work with stakeholders and challenge when needed
  • Experience of accounting for actual performance - balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, preparing forecasts etc.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills to financial and non-financial staff
