THE COMPANY:

This is a UK market leading business services company with Head Offices based in South Leeds. This business has experience record profit in 2020, and a result have created a brand new role in their finance team.

The role is an Assistant Accountant role that will support the Financial Controller and Management Accountant with management accounts preparation, as well as some transactional processing duties. The role will be varied and wide ranging as it will support the day to day of the finance team, and would be the ideal opportunity for someone looking to take the next step up in management accounting responsibility.

THE JOB:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsibility for the following key duties:

  • Assist the Financial Controller and Management Accountant in working with other areas of the business to develop and deliver timely analysis of data and commercial insight to support and drive business decision making, particularly in relation to commercial reporting
  • Posting journals
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with all other statutory reporting requirements, including liaison with all stakeholders
  • Responsibility for cash book postings, payment management and bank reconciliations
  • Responsibility for transactional processing
  • Provide cover for other elements of the cash/treasury process such as the Invoice Discount Facility
  • General accounts and office admin as required

THE PERSON:

The successful candidate will:

  • Be AAT Level 3 or 4, and be studying towards or looking to start ACCA/CIMA - Desirable
  • Have previous experience of assisting with management accounts preparation - Essential
  • Have a minimum of 12 months experience in a relevant finance role - Essential
  • Have the desire to progress their experience in finance and take on more responsibility over time - Essential
